Banah Cliff Point In Nusa Penida, Bali

Last July, a buddy and I revisited one of my favorite spots in Nusa Penida — Banah Cliff Point!

The great thing about Banah is that it actually has half a dozen different view points along the cliffs, and at each view point you can walk right up to the edge of the cliff and look down at the waves crashing on the rocks.

Where To Stay In Nusa Penida

Banah Sunset Point

The first time I visited Banah, I actually missed one of the main view points, which was hiding in plain site.

As you enter the parking area, take a right and you will reach a huge cliff drop with panoramic views of the Penida coastline stretching out in the distance.

This is the “sunset point” of Banah — hunker down here if you’re wanting to watch the sunset.

Banah Cliff Point

If you take a left and follow the cliff (carefully), then you’ll see the Banah rock, a doughnut shaped rock sticking out of the ocean. Very cool.

There is a descending concrete stairway here that you can use to walk out to the point and get your photo taken with the Banah rock in the background.

From the Banah cliffs you can usually see a bunch of tiny manta rays and speedboats floating around on the ocean below. Great stuff!

Entrance Fees

FREE as of 2020.

There’s no entry fee or parking fee here.

How To Get There

Banah cliff point is on the west side of Nusa Penida island. It’s accessible by car or scooter, about 1 hour drive from the main docks and accommodation in northern Penida.

Be careful if you go by scooter because the road to Banah is one of the roughest roads in Penida, and may be dangerous in some spots if you don’t take it slow!

Where We Stayed

We stayed at Saren Villa on the north coast of Nusa Penida, and paid 240k Rupiah ($15 USD) for a private double room with cold A/C, hot shower, and good WiFi.

This is one of the cheapest options in Penida, and it's in a great location near the best restaurants! We were happy.

Prices may fluctuate from time to time, so just keep an eye out for a good deal.
